PakFab Engineered Solutions is a custom manufacturer, and design house of returnable packaging solutions primarily for supporting the Automotive industry supply chain. This includes but is not limited to Steel shipping racks, bins, Pallets, Plastic totes, bins, and dunnage of various materials such as foams,
textiles and plastics.
The Industrial (Packaging) Senior Designer works as part of a team and individually to develop solutions for customer packaging requirement. Key elements of the role are:
Product Design & Development
Development of designs of higher complexity
Development of designs to meet or exceed all customer requirements and expectations.
Development and maintenance of 3D Models (Solidworks), project bills of materials, drawing packages, and related project documentation.
Releasing Projects for prototyping and production.
Review of designs or prototypes with shop / sub-contractors for Fit Form and Function
Review of designs or prototypes with customers and recording of all change requests
Reverse engineer supplied designs from physical samples, or drawings.
Resolve product design and quality issues.
Project Management
Work on multiple projects and tasks at various stages of development concurrently.
Manage time effectively to achieve deadlines; incorporate 5S into daily tasks
Support and communicate with Production Control, Project & Program Managers as required.
Support quoting and purchasing activities as required.
Provide complete information to Production Control and Purchasing for purpose of quoting
Production Support
Provide support to production and Quality Control departments
Preparation and maintenance of all required Project Documentation
Prepare quality check sheets
Assist with fixture development
Review and Approval of 1 st articles at PakFab or Subcontractor’s facility– release of projects for full production
Assist production in solving issues which arise during production
Assist with reporting quality issues of incoming materials
Repair Services Support
Prepare drawings based off existing assemblies and parts
Other Duties as Assigned
Input into development and improvement of processes, systems, and standards
Offer expertise and experience in brainstorming discussions
Support Corporate/Departmental Policies & Procedures
Some interaction with customers
